  1. I'll blog it later, but this was just too stupid to miss:

Tony Melcer, the coach, told me I ride track like an ironman. I said that
was a funny coincidence - because I also TT like a sprinter.

    🙁

Had heaps of fun, those velodromes are pretty scary! Loved the fixie
    though... so much control...

Tam, was this part of the women's sprint talent ID squad?

    ROFLMAO at that one!

Er, no. It was a bunch of army guys and two army girls, trying out the
track. One guy freaked out and stayed inside the whole time, didn't even
    try the hill!

QAS was looking for female cyclists... at the time I thought "Ew, who
would want to do that much cycling?" Now I like cycling more. Now I
think, "Maybe I could've.... nah, who would want to do that much
    TRAINING?"

Da Southside Boyz are telling me off for not training though... they wanna
    haul my lardarse to ironman.

are there days where you can go along as a total [censored] and have a go?

speaking of track i had this truly psychedlic dream a couple of nights ago
that i won a kazillion dollars and rebuilt the hawthorn velo into a decent track. but for some wierd reason everyne was riding clockwise. i think that image disturbed me so much i woke up! 🙄

This means you will have great success but have been working too hard and need to devote more time to leisure activities. There is a need to be creative or approach things from a different angle in doing so. Otherwise it means you will win a lot of money, blow it in one hit and get the anxiety guilts about it :p

Where the bikes green by any chance????

To race you need to do a couple of beginner training sessions to determine if you are a crash bandicot. Your previous fixed riding would help.

Its sprinting without hills and corners to put your pedal down in and smaller fields. Sounds perfect for you. And Mr. Brewer!

Blackburn's have been on thursday night the last couple of years.

The other option is to rock up early at DISC on a Thursday and roll around in the warmup, then decide whether you're ready to race or not. (ie can you sit on a wheel safely at speed on a fixie). Or even better, rock up to the Wednesday night CSV inspired endurance racing. At least you won't crash into someone else when there's only 2 people in each grade.

Pay 5 Bucks and Just arrive at DISC anytime during the day all week and show your CA licence, the tracks yours ( well you gotta share it with whoever rocks up, unless its booked, which it isn't) except for Training alt. Tuesday nights from 6 and racing Wed and Thursday nights.....

for training gigsspeak to Monster, at CCCC, currently alt. Tues nites and planning for more in summer..

CSV wed night races are a pain ( IMHO), boring......ok as a training ride...but still boring as......Thursday's much better, at least three types of races over the night, (sprint, points and motorpace) good grade break up and a good mix of talent , ages and newbies , its just bloody cold so bring a beanie, a blanket and a hot toddy...and Fairfield Pizza's Medium Capricciosa for $8 at 10-15pm just tops it off.....

Someone made a comment yesterday about how safe they felt, with no cars
to crash into. Nope, only concrete, moving very quickly.

DISC gives some options, the duck boards at bottom of the 42degree slope, the very nice exotic siberian fence, the concrete infield track and/or take your pick of anywhere on the track boards you want to plant your butt to collect splinters.....or if you are feeling like a wild exit, head for the infield bowling green and get some carpet burn as you dodge the rollyboys and girls and their jacks!! 🙂

tip, wear full gloves and an undershirt ( legwarmers and arm warmers also help you get your head around the splinters/track and keep you warmer between interval training).......

    wow. can_it_get_more_appealing??? 😄

and i thought bitumen was the 'only' roughage to be had. My diet needs Fibre, i tells ya!

Is it kosher to take a short cut straight across that infield???

But I though the Dutch already claimed the red "crash bandicoot" jersey
already. Why do they need to test any further.
