Does anyone know if it is still possible to easily get cottepins for chainsets in bike shops in UK? Let me explain, I live in Paris where I have an old single speed bike that I picked up when I was in Oxford. I noticed that there are still loads of people with bikes with cottepins in town, as you know these tend to wear out over time.
So I've been to a number of bike shops here - first shop had never heard to the things. I showed him my bike and he said that it must be some special 'foreign' setup. Another shop knew what I meant but said they were no longer made and a third 'specialist' shop told me that there were UK and French versions and they didn't have the UK versions but could make them for 4 quid each.
So I'm just wondering if anyone knows if they are easy to find in UK shops or will I get shrugged shoulded and whistles through teeth?

Yes. I went into an MTB dominated shop in Welwyn (Marshall's) last year and asked with full expectation of that blank look that only a spotty yoof can achieve to be told 'sure'. About 2 minutes later 2 cotter pins were in my pocket.
