Anyone else notice that Heras has been going really well up to now? For him he's done a brilliant TT and his team has kept his early loses to a minimum. Saiz is handling this team with a great deal more quiet competence than Once.
Beloki is supposedly way overweight and no one knows how he's going to fare. I read an interview with him and he displayed a great deal more intelligence than I would have thought. If he can get his confidence back I bet that we're going to see some good things from this guy who just might win the Vuelta this year.
Mayo was crushed the last two years and his confidence was marginal to begin with. The fact that he's a great climber gave him and his team visions of grandure that probably crippled his chances of making some really great rides in the mountains for stage wins. Instead he wanted to sit conservatively on Lance's wheel and go for a good GC.
Screw good GC. If you aren't likely to beat Lance you're just another Tour loser. Go for a win instead!

Dumbass -
You've got your head up your ass.
Check out ONCE's results in 1995. Saiz's team this year doesn't hold a candle to that one.
