  1. Does anyone know of any good deals on a full suspension mountain bike from dealers around the Oxford
area, or possibly mail order? Brand is not that important but quality is. It could be last years
model in order to realise bigger savings.

Use will be recreational cross country, not competition, but with plenty of hills and muddy
conditions depending on time of year and ridden fairly aggressively in terms of power and energy
rather than jumping and tricks. The rider is about 12-13 stone (a friend, not me, but he doesn't use
Usenet so I'm asking on his behalf).

We did see an 2002 Gary Fisher Sugar 4+ for £700, with a claimed £400 off list but I don't know
whether this is a good bike or a good price. Either way, they didn't have the right frame size.
Minimum groupset spec must be Shimano Deore/LX or better.

Budget is about £700-£800 or possibly up to £1,000 max for an outstanding bike/bargain.
