  1. I awake each night to pee and have a real hard time falling back to sleep.
(i hear my heart beating in my stomach and chest) I slep on my tummy with my
head on a down pillow. I just watch as the time goes by.
Are there any suggestions as to what I can take such as
    valeria.5-.htp..melatonin..ornithine etc.

    I would appreciate any input.

  2. Could be anxiety? The more you concentrate on your heart beating the more
you think it's skipping beats etc.

I used to have problems like that, until I discovered what was
causing them. My new rule is do not eat high-protein foods
(especially meat) or take vitamins between the late afternoon
and bedtime. Since following that rule, I sleep like a log.

I believe that these foods promote the synthesis of
neurotransmitters and contribute toward a "busy" brain,
    which interferes with sleep.

If you try this, please report back here whether it works
    for you, or not.

  4. I had the same problem for a while.

Whole Foods has an effective standardized Valerian root under their
    own brand.
    60 caps = about $7
No side effects to most people and you wake up without the drug
    hangover.

Sundown and store brands seem to be almost useless.

Don't crucify me for this, but people who sleep on their stomachs have
    done so out of depression.

Stop eating 2 hours before bedtime and drinking 1 hour before bedtime.

Much of the stress I had was related to a new business venture, but I
would eat late, stay up longer and then lose sleep which made it
    worse.
