I get a flu shot every year. I got mine for this year on October 1, and
I

was

that

strain

of

In other words, the flu shot has strengthened my immune system,
Strengthen your immune system? Are you sure about that?
Yes, I am absolutely sure about that. When you catch a cold, or get the flu,
your immune system's leukocytes (white blood cells) latch on to some of the
viruses and design proteins that are exactly the right shape to stick onto
the surface of the virus. These proteins, called antibodies, are then
manufactured released into the bloodstream as fast as the immune system can
make them. The antibodies then latch onto the viruses that they find, which
prevents the viruses from entering your body's cells, and also marks the
virus so that other white blood cells, called macrophages, can recognize
them and break them down into material that your body can eliminate.
The initial phase of this process, the design and manufacture of a new kind
of antibody specific for this particular virus, takes time. And until your
blood has enough of these antibodies to fight off the virus, you are sick.
After you get well, you still have the antibodies in your blood, so if more
of those viruses get into your body, the antibodies immediately kill them
off, and you don't become ill at all. You are said to be "immune" to that
disease. The antibodies don't last forever, though, and eventually, you will
not have enough of them to protect you. Fortunately, your immune system
keeps a kind of library of all the special antibodies it has designed. So
your immune system is "strengthened," and when that virus shows up again,
the white-cell antibody factories can get right to work making more
antibodies to fight it off. If you get sick at all, the disease will be
milder and you will get well more quickly.
Well. the wayyou sound, medical science is pretty sure in getting a
cure for the aids virus!

By the way, how do you see or feel that your immune system is being
strengthen?
When you get vaccinated, you are given viruses that have been disabled or
killed so that they cannot actually give you the disease, but your body
still designs the new antibody and realeases it into the blood, and stores
the design in its library of special white cells called B-lymphocytes. Thus
you become immune without having to suffer through the disease. The fever
and mild sick feeling that I experienced after my flu shot were caused by my
immune system, not by the virus directly. Often, your immune system can
produce this immune state without even this mild reaction, so that you do
not see or feel your immune system being strengthened. But it has been.
Hey rich, the 'measurring' of the immune system is about 'how fast is
the healing' not only on a flu virus as mentioned by you. There are
other factors in measurring the immune system, such as, a bruise on
the leg's area, due to a fall and when, one's immune system is as
'vibrant', the bruise (thru self internal healing) goes away in 2 to 3
days time, instead of weeks.
What you had said on 'something' a kind of 'impurities' (according to
holistic interpretation, on thing 'foreign'or 'alien' being injected
into a warn blooded sacred body system) being injected into the body
system, just to serve the purpose of fight-off those flu viruses, is
not exactly what you are talking about immune system.

Since, you said that, pls enlighten us on this immune system subject.
A complete description of the immune system and how it works would fill a
few shelves full of books. You could spend your life studying the immune
system; immunologists do just that. I'm not an immunologist, so I could not
"enlighten" you to that extent, but if you have any questions about
immunity, I'll be glad to try to answer them.
Yea, medical science with all those electronic gadgets couls measure
one's blood count and so on. Overhere, in our type of oriental
measuring on one's health is about looking at patient's urine (ie. its
milkyness, its urination frequences and control), appetite and its
end product in 'passing motion' (ie. whether its watery or harden.
Long or short excreta or whether there are blood stain on it). In fact
our type of health check-up need not have to go thru complicated
electronic device as used by medical science. We just got to
understand its body behaviour and its end-product.

Before, you made this sort of remarks, tell us more on your 'feeling'
of the immune system you are talking about.
I prefer to acquire KNOWLEDGE about such things as the immune system.
"Feeling" is emotional behavior, and applies only in the sense that I feel
better when I know about how things like the immune system work.
Beside, the immune system, there is another kind of 'meassurement' (to
the body functioning) known as 'chi flow' on the body's 5 meridien chi
flow.
Of course, that come with another sort of 'measurement'.
Have a nice day, my fren!!
