Good gloves?

Gloves may last a season or two depending on mileage. Pearl Izumi White Line
Gloves are ok. I had a pair of Performance (Century?) gloves that were also
good. Look for sales.

I depends upon how much you ride. The gloves hanging on the bars of my
MTB are years old, but then I don't ride that bike that often.

I get about a season from the gloves I use on my regular road bike.

FWIW, my favorite gloves are SportsMed, which are rebranded Spencos.

Couple years maybe, but I don't wear them all the time as they irritate
the "webbing" on my fingers. I find using nice bar tape to be more
important. Some folks insist on gloves as sweat wiping devices, I usually
carry two washcloths in my jersey for that purpose, one I wet with my
Camelbak, the other is dry for glasses and such.

Gloves are certainly nice when you take a little spill though.

Good ones last 2-3 years, worn maybe twice a week and washed about
once a month. Bad ones, whether name-brand or Performance house
brand, don't last a summer.

The leather stiffens, it eventually cracks. This happens with all
natural leather gloves. Synthetics don't have the problem -- make much
better gloves and shoes (I would add saddles, but it's too hot for flames).

I can not recommend the gloves from Cannondale! They disintegrated
with in 400 miles of use (2 weeks). I have 2 pair of very old
Specialized gloves that I still use (the lycra is falling apart). I
like the Louis Garneau Ergo air but they are too thing for more than
40 mile rides (that's what I ride mostly).

As I didn't answer the actual question in my other post:

I've got a set of REI all synthetic gloves at the moment, totally wash and
wear, but I'd rather have an old set of real leather cotton-backs to be
honest. Yeah, they got pretty stinky, but they actually broke in compared
to this lycra glove [censored]. I like lycra for shorts and winter gloves though.

i like those too. you can wash them so they dont stink so bad...i have an
old pair that says "planet bike" on the tag and they have lasted for three
summers but then i paid a lot more for a pair of trico groves from rei
however and they didnt even last two weeks. should have stuck with what was
working!

some gloves (like the tricos i mentioned) disintegrate when washed too
often, and it's not good for the leather.
