I think they usually wait until the Tour is over, in order to provide an antithesis to all the media attention that acknowledges the difficulty of the accomplishment.

While driving to work today I heard Skip Bayliss (sp?) on a sports radio program. He said that when Armstrong threw out the first ball at a Yankee game last year, Armstrong threw like a girl.
