the redness will slowly fade...6 weeks is still very new..

tho there are some products OTC that advertise lessening the appearance of
scars..think one is called Megaderm...you may want to ask a knowledgable
pharmacist...

but time really does help a lot (could be 6 -12 months tho)..

I've had tremendous luck using bentonite clay. It does take a few months,
but my scars are much less noticable... and I've had several surguries
(appendectomy, gall bladder removed & c-section). I get mine from

Nothing more than patience and the tincture of time. No other
"treatment" is necessary. Six weeks is not a long time at all. Scars can
take up to a year or more before they achieve their final appearance. We
would expect a scar to be still somewhat red at only six weeks. It's
very likely the scar will turn white over the next several months.

As I said before, it's important to be consistent in applying sunscreen
every time you expect sun exposure for at least the next year.
