So, DEB, you stop posting for a few days
and you expected what? That those opposed
to the magical thinking so lovingly referred
to as "alternative medicine" would suddenly
see the light? That we would accept the
arrant nonsense advanced by those who
haven't even the most basic understanding
of human anatomy or physiology? That we
would decide to let someone chelate our
cholesterol or have a chiroquactor give us
    a basilar vertebral artery dissection?
Sweetie, you can't possibly BE that deluded.

I don't suppose you expected any of the
SUPPORTERS of that nonsense to change?
I sincerely doubt you expected THEM to see
the error of their ways and suddenly begin
thinking in any sort of rational manner or
that they would cease their belligerant
attacks on the opposition. No, I didn't
    think so.

But then, that's what makes this newsgroup
so interesting. There might be, just might be,
amidst all the clutter of delusional ranting,
    something really worth considering.

As for the rest of it... I have no expectations that
anything I may personally add to the discussions here
will change anyone's thinking but the entertainment
value alone keeps me coming back.

    Regards,
    Snidely

"The more important fundamental laws and facts of physical science have
all been discovered, and these are now so firmly established that the
possibility of their ever being supplanted in consequence of new
discoveries is exceedingly remote.... Our future discoveries must be
looked for in the sixth place of decimals." - physicist Albert. A.
    Michelson, 1894

"Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible." - Lord Kelvin,

expects a source of power from the transformation of these atoms is
talking moonshine" - Ernst Rutherford, 1933

"The whole procedure [of shooting rockets into space]...presents
difficulties of so fundamental a nature, that we are forced to dismiss the

surely even you realize that when you repeatedly repost my statements that
I'm here for entertainment, and that I am an atheist that you IMPLY that I

"The more important fundamental laws and facts of physical science have
all been discovered, and these are now so firmly established that the
possibility of their ever being supplanted in consequence of new
discoveries is exceedingly remote.... Our future discoveries must be
looked for in the sixth place of decimals." - physicist Albert. A.
    Michelson, 1894

"Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible." - Lord Kelvin,
    president, Royal Society, 1895.

"The demonstration that no possible combination of known substances, known
forms of machinery, and known forms of force can be united in a
practicable machine by which men shall fly for long distances through the
air, seems to the writer as complete as it is possible for the
demonstration of any physical fact to be." - astronomer S. Newcomb, 1906

"Airplanes are interesting toys but of no military value." - Marechal

    in war.

"Professor Goddard does not know the relation between action and

in high schools." - 1921 New York Times editorial about Robert

    will." -- Albert Einstein, 1932

expects a source of power from the transformation of these atoms is
talking moonshine" - Ernst Rutherford, 1933

"The whole procedure [of shooting rockets into space]...presents
difficulties of so fundamental a nature, that we are forced to dismiss the
notion as essentially impracticable, in spite of the author's insistent
appeal to put aside prejudice and to recollect the supposed impossibility
of heavier-than-air flight before it was actually accomplished." Richard
van der Riet Wooley, British astronomer, reviewing P.E. Cleator's "Rockets
in Space", Nature, March 14, 1936

"I'm just glad it'll be Clark Gable who's falling on his face and not

"A cookie store is a bad idea. Besides, the market research reports

"So we went to Atari and said, 'Hey, we've got this amazing thing,
even built with some of your parts, and what do you think about
funding us? Or we'll give it to you. We just want to do it. Pay our
salary, we'll come work for you.' And they said, 'No.' So then we
went to Hewlett-Packard, and they said, 'Hey, we don't need you. You

just have to accept inconsistent muscle development as an unalterable
condition of weight training." - Response to Arthur Jones, who solved
the "unsolvable" problem by inventing Nautilus.

"640K ought to be enough for anybody." - Bill Gates, 1981

This is a great list of quotes from scientific and technical people who were
mistaken. Some of them are actually accurate. But where mistakes were made,
science has since corrected the concepts and discarded the errors. Altie
quacks still stubbornly cling to ninteenth century nonsense long after it
has been thoroughly disproven, i.e.; homeopathy, Rife microscopy, and many
others. In fact, I cannot think of a single old whacko altie concept, with
the possible exception of phrenology, that completely lacks modern day
adherents. This is the principle difference between science and
    "alternative."

Obviously, the "bunk removal" didn't work, you still seem to be full of
it....no wonder your eyes are so brown.

    as myself, do not mention.

Thus, you clearly have it wrong.
