So Armstrong's second half was faster than Zabriskie's, but we know he
lost 5 seconds in the last few kms. I guess his total time for the
last 9.4kms was bouyed by him realizing he could catch the fat lazy
pink German, and he did everything he could to do so.

tailwind and that LANCE did it with worse conditions...2km/h!

Well, at least that explains why Armstrong stopped gaining on Ullrich
after he passed him. That little puff of tailwind that somehow
mysteriously avoided all the other riders who were spaced one whole
minute apart and followed Armstrong around started pushing Jan
when Lance passed him.

Can you post one of these for stage 2 as well, when you have the data?
That should really clear things up. I expect that we will see that both
of those outliers disappear and that it was just a one-off.

Man, I hate it when I correct someone and my correction was itself wrong.
That's a fatal mistake.

Stage 1 WAS an ITT and it WAS stage 1. Course exceeding 8k or 9 (not
sure) is no longer considered PROLOGUE, not by ASO and they are the
organizers so...

Incorrect, since it was greater then 8km it was NOT a prologue, it was
Stage 1. There is no prologue this year.
