Is there are rule of thumb to guide me to select the proper length of an ISO
spindle if I know what size JIS spindle gives the proper chainline with a
ISO crank?
In other words how much "deeper" would an ISO crank be drawn in, at the same
torque value, than it is with a JIS spindle?
(I want to use a ISO Mavic VTT crank on a Riv. Atlantis frame.)

Maybe about 4.5mm, but this is extrapolating from the behaviour of a JIS
crank on an ISO spindle.
