  1. Okay, long story short.

I have a 2004 Specialized Allez Elite frame and fork with 2003 Allez Sport (Tiagra) components (cracked original frame/Specialized replaced, but that's another story). Over the last year I've upgraded the derailuers, wheels and handlebars and am now looking at the crank. The tiagra is fine, but rusting terribly (blame Houston's humidity).

Trying to decide on 1] replacing the entire BB and crank set (it's a triple) with 105 or Ultegra (expensive and just may be putting a dress on a pig) --OR -- 2] just replacing the chain rings with some nice 105s (cheaper option).

Thoughts? Anything I haven't thought of?

Your sage advice would be greatly appreciated.
