  1. I just started regularly exercising within the past year. I ran a 10k (55m)
and several 5ks(26m) I also recently did an olympic Triathlon (3:22). I am
27 and haven't really done any regular excersise since high school sports.
I am planning on running a marathon in Nov (20 weeks).

Is this doable and do you think it is possible to run a sub 4hr one?

Or am I crazy and still to amped up about last weeks triathlon?

    Thanks,
    John

If during the course of your marathon training you can get your 10k down to
49 minutes or better, you have a good shot at it. I assume you will be
following one of the many plans devised by experienced coaches.

And, yes, you may be crazy and amped up... :-)

That's tough without knowing how old you are, because you said "since
HS" and that could've been 2 years, or 40, and that'd make a
difference. Can you do it in under 4 hours? Not safely, and not likely.

  4. I mentioned that I was 27 and haven't done regular exersise since HS. Which
    was 9 years ago.

he said he was 27. first marathon usually the suggestion
is to do it to finish. i would figure out the pace to finish
just under the max allowed. and try to do it.
you have much to learn still to even be able to finish
    a marathon.

what has been your longest run? what did you eat?
    how did your feet feel?

as for doing it. sure. you can. if you go slow
enough and don't get any major feet issues, you'll
finish. then for the next one, you'll have a better idea
of what time to aim for. it's a little premature to even
    think about now.

  6. Longest run is 13miles everything felt fine.

Yeah I just want to have something to shoot for.
