  1. If I put out as many excuses, as Lance does, I would never be invited again to a group ride. Is it
something that euro-pros can do, but the rest of us can't?

  2. I guess its not the best way to convince people of your worth (sponcers, teammates and the
merchandise purchasing public) if you are quoted as saying "Man I just blew today! Those guys are
just hammering me and I feel like [censored].. I just dont have the pace!"

    😉

BTW Lance is only doing what the rest of em do as well... and it has been going on forever.

    1. It's not a group ride.
    2. USPS' entry was automatic. JML had no choice.

  4. see, they are 100x as talented as 99.9%+ of the people in here, so they can make all the excuses
they want. and mr. armstrong, well he can make all the excuses he wants as far as i am concerned.
from another angle, if you suck and make excuses or if you are talented and make excuses, eventually
they catch up to you or you just plain run out of them. after tomorrow/today's TT we'll see...

Lance was just being honest, if he does'nt feel good and that is the truth than what is he suppose
to say I feel great!! I don't know why i was bad today? Or if his disc break was rubbing and slowing
him down and he did not discover it for a long time is he suppose to say the bike was good and I
can't tell you the reason why I am not performing up to par because it is an excuse?, if there was
an equipment problem that is legit than mention it. Now if his brake was not rubbing and slowing him
down and he lied than that is an excuse. David Millar don't blame the chain or mechanic hee -- hee
he does make alot of excuses but that last one was a valid point.

I'm sure that's true, but now after the ITT saying he didn't have enough water is beginning to be a
bit disingenuous. That's a pretty basic oversight for someone riding the most important time trial
of their life on the hottest day of the race.

Yeah that was kinda lame "the water thing". Lance just has not dominated this year hopefully he is
just getting old and it is not the big C coming back. Lance says he normally handles the heat O.K.
and that he grew up in hotter conditions than this. That hot weather must be a real pain. I would
keep my clothes wet and in a bucket of ice water.
