I've only been up on Eagle Crag once before, and I've never (including
Scotland!) experienced as many flying insects in my life. I tried to take
a photo self-shot of myself and ended up grabbing the rucksack and camera
and running away from the summit.

As for Angus, I hope you washed him when he got back home?

Haha, yes it was a bit like that yesterday, especially walking by
Greenup Gill on the way to Eagle Crag where there were overhanging
trees.

I thought I'd had Angus in the river long enough for it to wash off but
this morning he's ended up with dreadlocks and plenty of mud all over
the carpet, which of course went down well with the other half!
Something about it all being my fault etc etc.

Nice photos.

Went up Cam Crag Ridge from Langstrath last week - also v.hot but
lovely views and no one around - nice!

Angus looks happy - I take my Weimaranar Arnie everywhere (good
scrambler) and I always reckon that his dunks in tarns and becks are
the equivalent of a good bath.

My wife doesn't agree with this viewpoint though!

Hi Nick,

A Weimaranar must be relatively easy to keep clean! Becks usually do
the biz, but not after the chocolate soup!!
