  1. Im making birthday dinner tomorrow for my friend. BBQ'd ribs, mock
potato salad and for dessert, the coffee "mouse" made with knox gelatine
    and cream.

How do I make lo carb BBQ sauce? I was thinking tomato paste, garlic,
    worstershire, Splenda, maple flavoring....uh....onion powder....maybe a
    drop of liquid smoke?

or is there something better? Something Im not thinkfng of?

    thanks--

  2. I'd love to know a good answer to this myself. Also wondering if
anyone knows a good LC recipe for a mock A-1 steak sauce. I love to
slather steak with A-1 but its got some significant sugar content on
    it.

Have you seen Jenny's BBQ sauce recipe, it might be what you're looking for.

That approach would work. Or, you can use a dry rub with garlic powder,
marjoram, sage, thyme, etc., and skip the tomato base.

A-1 is available in a low-carb version, or was a few months ago.

When I was a LC newbie I would mix up a batch of BBQ sauce all the time.
Like a mad chemist over the stovetop..... tomato sauce, mustard, vinegar,
spices, etc etc.... After awhile I smartened up. I buy the One Carb ketchup,
and add a touch of "Liquid Smoke", and it's just as good without the
    hassles.

Gee. That sort of WHOOOOOSHED over your head didn't it [censored]?

"[censored]...?" I bet you're a big hit down at the trailer park with this
dazzling and sophisticated grade-school repartee. I'm desperately sorry
you don't know what metaphor means, either. But, look at it this way,
airwit, you and BlackShadow can sit and hold hands while neither of you
understand what you've both said. Or what's been handed back to you.

Of course the "[censored]" reference was perfectly clear, metaphorically
speaking, and I'm thrilled you got it after just, well, several postings
of it. Flash that you are...

But you both seem so intent on displaying your rather unfortunate
near-in limits that the least I can do is step out of your way. But
don't worry, nobody's reading this, so you don't have to be any more
embarrassed than you should already be.

    Ooops. That's not true. Sorry.

  17. That's ok, BlackShadow. In this world, sadly, there are many Bob's and
    JC's.

These are the same people who resent tax dollars being spent on
wheelchair access ramps, braille on elevator buttons and extra-wide
    stalls in public bathrooms.
Who NEEDS printed captions? Screw the deaf!

Differently-abled persons just dont count to them and taking the 'cheap
shot" is always an ego boost. For those with little or no self esteem,
    esteem for others is...well, impossible.

LOL, when I used to rely on busses, I wasnt able to read the little
number on the bus, so Id have to flag EVERY bus and ask, "Is this the
    number 17?"

Ive had more than one busdriver say, "Whataya, BLIND? It's SAYS 17,
    doesnt it?"

Hey...I wonder if JC and Bob moonlight as bus drivers?

But, the Real Deal is, blind or not, I still managed to rsise my special
needs child, alone, until his death at 10. Blind or not, I still managed
to have several quite interesting careers, write and publish a book and
many articles, travel fairly extensively and blind or not, still managed
to make something of a killing in real estate, leaving me, at 55, owning
my home and acreage outright, no mortgage, no credit card debt and no
financial worries....not too shabby for a "poor blind woman". That I
accomplished all this by and of myself, with no help received or needed
from a big strong may-un speaks for itself in this (still) "man's
    world"..

I doubt Bob or JC have done anything close...and if they did, big deal,
they have 20/20 vision, testicles (presumaly) and didnt raise a
    chronically ill child.

So...I KNOW who I am and what Im made of. I also know what JC and Bob
are made of...and who's really "disabled".
There are no disabled as abjectly pitiful as the disabled-of-spirit.

I wouldnt trade places with either of them, LOL...not by a long shot,
