I am sorry for the previous post and the horrible language I used. I didn' mean it. I have had very bad mood swings lately due to medications and c omplications from diabetes. I know that doesn't explain it all away. It is very frustrating to see everybody get a response from their post and myself not to get a single one from what seemed an easy question.
No problem. The best rule of thumb for usenet is to take none of it seriously. If you do that, you'll survive just fine.

I'll say this for you -- you certainly know how to make an entrance. 🙂
Many folks there use a low carb approach to control their BGs.
And if your BGs are swinging... so are your moods.

The next time your mood swings down and you're extremely depressed, go ahead on and kill yourself. It's really the best thing.

Apology accepted as far as I'm concerned Jarron. We all have bad moments from time to time. As to the vegetable thing, I usually wash mine in running water, and give them a scrub with a vegetable brush. I'm diabetic too, and I can relate to the mood swings when my BG is high. Fortunately, LC can make a big difference in your diabetes control. I look forward to your posts. :-)

I would definitely not worry. I did read your original request about the best way to wash fresh vegetables, and I did give that a lot of thought. My first wife and I split back in the late 70s, and the original argument that led to the split was centered around her claim that I did not properly wash the lettuce for the salad I had prepared.

i thought you use water with some white vinegar in it. They even sold a bottled version of this in the supermarket, they still might - dunno the name.
lucky that you posted your rude message here. i'm wondering what replies you would have got had you posted it at rec.food.cooking. someone awhile ago asked about how to clean mushrooms. unfortunately the consenses amongst the folks over there seems to be "people who bother to wash mushrooms are nutters, they should eat the dirt hanging on the mushrooms as some kind of mineral boosters" and the guy got some real bad beating out of it.

I'd been spending all my time in ATC and you seemed to be evening out there, and poke my head back in here just in time for this. Diabetes really does mess with your moods when it's not well controlled (I'm a Type II), and depending on your meds they can play havoc as well. Let your doc or docs know what's going on moodwise. It's not good for blood sugar control or self control to be so touchy. Your kids would probably like their normal dad back too. In the meantime maybe it'd be best to stay off usenet when it's at its worst.
BTW, in ATC you're going to have to find a graceful way to say "Oops, my bad" on your prediction vis-a-vis the Boy Scout in Utah being dead and kidnapped. He turned up yesterday after having wandered around for four days, hungry and dehydrated but otherwise fine. Thank goodness. :-) May I suggest something along the lines of "I didn't know it could feel this good to be so wrong!" -- Evolution stops when stupidity is no longer fatal.

I've worked at the track (horse racing - in the spit box, for the state) before, and had to keep my stalls clean...and I know who picks up the big piles of stuff from the tracks, and what they do with it...and there's NO WAY I'd eat a mushroom with the...er...dirt...hanging from it.

It's the little things that make a marriage :-) The only reason I got married (briefly) back in 1981 was that he washed my dishes. Turns out that just wasn't enough to offset his total irrationality in every OTHER situation. Ah well, live and learn (and accept that I'd rather wash my OWN damn dishes than be miserable the rest of the time).

That beats the couple who divorced because he didn't fold the towels into thirds.

It's amazing that we settle for someone who fits our immediate needs, but we never think enough of ourselves to demand what we deserve.
Thaffy, I would be happy to walk into your house, wash your dishes, walk out, and wait for you to call me to ask if I actually did wash your dishes. I would treat it as not a big deal. You once treated it as something worth marrying over.
How weird is THAT?
Of course, if you have a LOT of dishes, it MIGHT require a great deal of affection. Have to play it by ear, you know.

Any man that is secure with being a man would love someone like Thaffy. I didn't have to blink my eyes once to see that. I've known that for a long time.
I can't solve everyone else's problems. I just know which people make mine easier.
