    Having had many problems over the years with different newsgroups I
    don't have a problem with anyone posting a short test message.

    I will therefore be happy if Guy agrees to be chair of the group of 5
    who will pick the best reason.

    The prize will be 5 MTB inner tubes delivered to any UK address at my
    expense. Guy and the other 4 will not be allowed to win!

    Risking an image of sheer incompetence, in a feeble attempt to score an
    inner tube, how about...

    Having set up a group-specific filter, and accidentally included myself in
    the list of users to be blocked, thus inadvertently killfiling myself, I
    posted a short test message to the group concerned to ensure that my
    subsequent ammendment to the filter had worked correctly.
