I'm in doing the solo single speed thing, so if you see a short guy on a rigid Surly 1x1 (or more likely a converted Avanti with bouncy forks) grunting, groaning, talking to himself or putting sticks through peoples deraileurs, that'll be me. 😉

As for getting in stacks of riding the WWS 8hr at Killingworth is on this weekend, should be fun.

I'm there....fourth year in a row. But, first time in a team of
4....could be painful! I've always been in a 6 before.

I scored a slot as a part of a corporate entry (team of 4) and I know that
Tam managed to get on the same corporate entry (team of 6). We will
probably be in one of the biggest corporate areas as Defence booked out 5
corporate entries (50 riders) and I know that there are a few other Defence
teams that have entered privately and they may also set up in the same area
as us. Hopefully all of the Canberra based riders will arrange for a stack
of tents, stretchers, cooking gear, generators, etc and all I will have to
do is rock up with my bike.

I can't wait.......now all I have to do is get in stacks of time on the bike
between now and then.

see the dropoffs. So they aren't there and I can go faster. Eeek!

As far as I know, Defence are providing a couple of sets of HID lights from
an adventure training cell....you might want to chase them up

There are hills in the course...plenty...both up and down. Don't recall
any dropouts, though there were a few dropkicks last year ;-)

In 2003 it was below zero overnight....hypothermic MTBers....ice in the
camelback tube...two flats in 10 minutes at about 2am...awesome fun ;-)

Last year was mild in comparison.

Seriously....be prepared for any kind of weather here in Canberra at
that time of year.

By the time the Mont rolls around Canberra is (usually) warming up. For those who don't know about it, around this time last year the "12 hours of Darkness" was held. It was 0 degrees by 10pm and it must have got down to around -3. That was fairly unpleasent.

Mixed team of 4 in this years Mont for me.

Both sides, silly. With matching thigh-high suede boots with SPD cleats Both
terra-cotta soloured. With silver piping. BIG sunnies. Possibly an old-skool
late 70s BMX helmet. An original Uzi and a chopper with a Sturmey-Archer 3
speed hub, a banana seat, spok-e-dokes and the brightest blue metallic paint
you've ever seen, with metal flakes that could barely get out of the spray
gun. Voila...basic kit for your bodyguards/harem.
