Alpine info needed

Check this thread which has a lot of good info from various people (cyclingforums.comt242650 ever been to france to watch the tour live advice needed.htmlOpen ↗)...... in short yes you can ride the stages before hand but you must either already be on the mountain within the closures ot arrive before them. Most of the time you can get through the closures when on foot and with a bike but sometimes they will stop you going through on a bike if they are worried you might be to close to the race or support vechclies etc.....

The Courchevel website has all the detail on road closures and maps etc.......... (courchevel.comaccueil.phpOpen ↗)

New to this so please bear with me, I'm off to stay in Duex Alpe in July to attempt some cli9mbs and hopefully catch a couple of stages of the Tour.

Will I be able to ride to various surrounding areas where the Tour passes by or will the routes be shut completely.

In particular i was intending to go to Galibier and Courchevel, will I be able to ride to these locations early morning to watch the riders later in the day or will these roads be shut to public on the day? If so i presume the only option is to ride there and camp overnight.

Anyone able to provide info from their own experiences i would be extremely greatful.
