  1. Back to SD for a short week in July. I'll be in La Jolla this time. I
know UCSD has some trails and that's right down the road from my hotel
(Hilton). Any others within riding distance (singlespeed)? I should
have at least one midweek afternoon for a good ride if anyone wants to
    join the fun.

UCSD trails are really a cyclocross course -- fun, but I always seem to hurt
myself! (Haven't ridden there in years; probably no coincidence.) Still,
if you only have a short time to sneak away, they'd be your best bet.

Next up the road is Rancho Penasquitos -- definitely doable on a SS,
    depending on route.

Let me/us know some particulars, and we'll try to hook up for something.
(Midweek afternoons not the best time, but we'll work on it...)

Cool. I post info as soon as I know my schedule. I arrive on a Monday
and leave on Saturday morning, so there is no weekend. The SS is going
because the Titus has to ship to Vail and then straight onto Idaho a
    week after that.

Damn horsies have the singletrack closed off to bikes or is it not enforced?

Nah, only one trail that I know of. Rode there last night (solo); didn't
    see any new signs.

The park commission's Website is out of date. I checked around and as
of early 2004 it opened up. I can get to here from the UCSD campus on a
bike? If so, 4000 acres should keep me busy for a while.

Not positive of entrance point(s), but the park itself is pretty close to
the Hilton. Less than 5 miles, I'd guess.

    We'll tawk...

  8. Have fun and cam it.

  9. The Strand in Pacific Beach has some fantastic views.

Hmmm... I almost forgot it was summer. I have never been in SoCal in
the summer, so I've always missed those views. I guess I will have to
    bring the telephoto lens.
