Zero Gravity Brakes ?

Just take some tools with you to the next race where a lot of masters
will be gathering. If you are careful,in a few minutes you could have
several pair for only a few minutes work. That would be a substantial
discount from full retail.

Your math is screwed up. 105's weigh 352g, ZG's weigh 167. That's closer to
200g than 100. And I don't think of them as cool. Dura Ace or C Record are
better looking to me. How much faster will 200g make me? According to the Mass
Factor Compensation Calculator on Wait Weenies, I should add about 1.04 mph on a
32% climb by switching to ZGs. Unfortunately, the loss of mass will cost me
approximately 0.0000041 mph on a steep descent.

Unless I fart at the right time.

Find an older set of Diacomps. And think about this - you're coming down a
hill at 50 mph and around a sharp turn at the bottom there is a stop sign
right at a freeway entrance. Do you WANT to save 27 grams (1 ounce) on your
brakes?

The '05 ZG's perform great and are used by folks that ride big, steep hills
around here with excellent results. No older Diacomps for me - you can have all
that junk you want. And, no, I don't want to save 27g, I want to save ~200.
But you're missing the point - I'm already sold on the performance of the ZG
brakes. I'm just trying to find a place that will give a reasonable discount.

Go ahead and ride POS Diacomps or whatever floats yer boat.

And another thing - on the rides I do with 50 mph hills - I know what's at the
bottom - or else I slow down in advance if I don't.

I bought a set and couldn't find them for any less than list price. The
stock pads didn't work as well as I expected from reading the reviews. I
changed to Koolstop salmon pads (campy ones fit) and the braking is much
better. I would say they work as well as my older Duraace 7400 brakes, but
with a huge weight savings.

Drawbacks are that the brakes will not clear wider rims anything over about
20 to 21mm, you will have to shave the pads to provide clearance. Also the
quick release doesn't open very wide to clear wider tires when inflated,
like a 23mm. I have campy levers so using both quick releases solve the
problem. The brakes tend to get off center very easily when bumped during a
wheel change. I don't think UCI riders would bother to use these, due to the
centering and clearance problems, unless they are sponsored. You can easily
get to the UCI weight limit without them. So why bother with the slower
wheel changes.

That said, for a weight weenie who doesn't race they are the lightest brakes
that don't compromise braking performance in any way. I am happy with them.
