one problem is leaving the seat under a hot sun
especially when the seat was riden and is butt wet from sweat.
the shrinkage rates for foam and cover material appear different
rapid drying stresses the sew points beyond capacity.
i'm looking at spec's mincow gel road runner and wondering if the gell
cells will (*^$&$#^&%!!pop out for perimeter reasons?

Selle Italia has a rep in the pacific NW somewhere. I had a crashed
saddle repaired thru them and they were helpful and reasonable. Send
Selle Italia and email and they should be able to help.

Hi, No I don't feel you're whining one bit. You have a legitimate
gripe. What I think, is that a saddle that has stitching on the top of
it, can perhaps have something like this happen.

When the sewing machine runs across the material, it in effect is
literally cutting the material with a myriad of "little holes".

Leather is a little less susceptible than Naugahyde, but due to the
extreme thinness of the material, even this can occur to leather too.
Hopefully you'll get yourself a free replacement.

This may be true, but these are all forseeable circumstances and the
manufacturer should account for them. Sounds like either the saddle
is defective or poorly designed.

Sounds like a legitimate complaint to me. I just retired an Avocet mod.1
saddle from my commuting bike this year after almost 30 years of service.
It was still functional, but I had worn through the leather in several
places and was eating into the foam padding underneath.
