Convinced the battery in my scale was surely dying, I replaced it. Then
I dragged the damn thing all over the floor to find the "right" spot,
the spot where the numbers would read, "190". Inagine my dismay to
finally come to grips with the hard fact----only one pound gone in a
    week.

    AAAAAGGGGHHHHH.

OK. Life is full of dissapointments. I warched "Hud" on TV this
morning....and a least I didnt have to shoot all my cattle due to Hoof
and Mouth disease....so, things could be worse.

Now....my thinking was...."as long as I keep it to 20 carbs a day, it
shouldnt matter where those carbs came from."

Evidentally.....this is not true. If I've learned anything this week,
    it's this:
Ya cant drink a liter of wine a day and lose weight.

But what I want to know is.....WHY?

why are wine carbs dfferent from food carbs? Where did my logic err?
What exactly is it that makes this happen? Does alcohol....stop ketosis?
    Or...what?

Of course, I also did O exercise this week.

There is no such thing as a Free Lunch.
Nor a "get out of jail free" card.
Do NOT pass GO. Do not collect $200.

    Color me bummed.

    sigh.

Is there anything worse than the knowledge, "I did this to myself"?

I think he's male. Females are rarely socialized to be so unpleasant
to others, but you never know.

I know its never healthy to develop an interest in trolls, but I want
    to study him.

From the general '[censored]" quality, you might well assume this. Of
course, some gay males can be [censored], too.

Im going with gay male. A morbidly obese, chronic diet failure, gay
male. His intense self-hatred spills over onto the rest of the world,
but on none so much as those successfully losing weight.

He's more to be pitied than censured....imagine spending your life
stuffing doughnuts into your face with one hand, while typing vitreol
    with the other?

Yep. That's my take on it. A poor, aging, lonely, fat gay man consumed
with self-contempt and cowardice. He would commit suicide, if he
could....but alas, quick and final methods like a gun or rope take too
much courage. Death by doughnut takes longer, but requires no courage,
    at all.

Food is his religion and hatred, his hobby.
    tsk, tsk, tsk.

Heh, it's funny how different people can have such totally different
interpretations of someone. Based on JC's posting history and photos, I
see him more as an old-school drill sergeant type. You know, the kind
in old war movies who screamed at the recruits and insulted them, "for
    their own good."

I don't think his interpersonal style is borne of altruistic reasons.
    I could be wrong.

I think he's definitely male. I do believe that he's lost weight. He
may have some chronic mental illness (e.g., OCD, social anxiety
disorder). I also suspect he probably rarely leaves his house and has
few, if any, social contacts outside of his computer. I bet he's been
single for a looooong time, and probably not by choice. All just
    guesses.

I admit that I have a social anxiety disorder. Most people I meet

really don't agree with Rousseau or Mencius.

Hahaha. Seriously though, if other people's stupidity gives you violent
urges, it's just a matter of time before you get in legal trouble. Try
meditating to this calming mantra. Inhale slowly on the first syllable
of each line, then exhale slowly on the second.

He was pretty funny with the [censored]-[censored] thing. Also, my pappy always

I have no trouble believing he's a mathematics guy. I've informally
found that the more brilliant a person is at math, the more socially
    maladroit they tend to be.

  11. It's probably not a good thing to want to choke people, but it is

Yeah, that was me. Some of the things I think I know about JC I'm not
sure about, because I don't always remember what he actually said as
opposed to what I've assumed. Oooo, let's play a game. JC, you tell me
how which of these I'm right about.

You're a high school math teacher.
    You live in Texas.
You're married, but you don't have children.
You have at least one pet dog, maybe more, big dogs not small ones, but
    no cats.
    You were in the military.
Body building is your main hobby.
You used to be "obese" according to BMI, but your body fat percentage
    was never unhealthily high.

I think he tells us what he told himself in order to lose weight.

    Hm. Scary.

    I also
think he tries for the one line zingers, because that's his sense of
    humor.

He was pretty funny with the [censored]-[censored] thing. Also, my pappy always
said that the best kind of humor is when its at the expense of someone
else. On the other hand, I find it kind of objectionable to be
insulting people on a diet support NG who you haven't bothered to get
    to know personally first.

    I'm pretty sure he's married.

OK. I guess like (you? someone else?) said, its funny how a number of
people can create such different stories about the same person.

I live with my girl friend, and I have children.

You have at least one pet dog, maybe more, big dogs not small ones, but
    no cats.
    You were in the military.
Body building is your main hobby.

Strength and conditioning is my main hobby, not body building exactly.

You used to be "obese" according to BMI, but your body fat percentage
    was never unhealthily high.

    I bet you're a Immanuel Kant fan.

    I prefer Nietzsche.

Makes even more sense. Both were horribly depressed and German, IMHO.

  18. Kant and Schopenhauer were depressed Germans, Nietzsche was Dionysian.

Hahaha. Seriously though, if other people's stupidity gives you violent
urges, it's just a matter of time before you get in legal trouble. Try
meditating to this calming mantra. Inhale slowly on the first syllable
of each line, then exhale slowly on the second.

    Ohhhh-whaaa

I really don't agree with Rousseau or Mencius.

I don't know what those folks had to say about social anxiety disorder.

Neither one said much about SAD, but they both believed that people are
    basically good.

So do you think people are basically bad then? They're not, you know.
They're not basically good either, they're just basically people. I
wonder which philosophical camp that puts me in.
