  1. Hi,

After looking for the cause of a very irritating click I heard every time
the pavement was uneven. It sounded like ticking with your nail hard on an
aluminium stem (Millennium in my case). I finally solved it: I was
convinced it had to come from either the handlebar, headset or stem. I put
some grease between stem and handlebar, but this didn't help. I removed the
grease and tested to see if the stem's bolts were tightened enough by
pressing hard on the STI's while standing in fron of the bike. Then I
suddenly heard that sound again every time I put my weight on the STI's. I
removed the central bolt that goes through the stem's cover. That's the
bolt that serves to eliminate play in the integrated headset. I put grease
on it and the click was gone!

    Hope this helps anyone.

    Greets, Derk
