    Oatmeal Bread

Hanover Inn NH Its educated bread from Dartmouth"

    2 cup boiling water
    1 cup quick oat
    2 Tbsp shortening
    1/2 cup molasses
    2 tsp salt
1 square or 1 package dry yeast
    5-6 cup flour

Pour boiling water over oats and shortening
Cool boiling water with oats and shortening. Add remaining ingredeints.
    Then knead until smooth
just like "down on the farm". Turn into greased bowl, let rise till
double. Make into either 4 small or 2 large loaves (I do two). Let
rise again, and bake at 350 for 50 minutes to an hour. Grease crust
with margarine as soon as it comes from oven. --Wonderful for the hips.
