Okay, we're down to the wire. The surgery is sometime on Wednesday morning
(we won't know when to show up until tomorrow afternoon - go figure). Saw
the surgeon this morning, and he gave Crash the go-ahead.
We've gotten comments about what kinds of procedures will be followed, and
we have some answers. They won't use the new mini-incision. The surgeon
said that they really haven't perfected the procedure, and that there is a
high incidence of dislocation. Chris Dabney suggested that we ask for
spinal narcotic pain killers immediately following the surgery. We found
out that that's standard operating procedure, so the surgical pain should
be under control right away. And we've been assured repeatedly that the
surgical pain is a walk in the park compared to what he's been enduring for
the past couple of months.
In order to keep this from cluttering the newsgroup with a zillion posts,
I've set up an online guest book so people can send encouragement, etc. to
Crash. It's an online get well card. 🙂

Long-term? Looks like Crash's second hip will be replaced in September,
then they're talking about his knees.
I'll update this thread when we find out how the surgery went, etc.
Back to making Hag's famous potstickers. It's 90 degrees here. I am
really looking forward to standing over boiling liquids today. 😉
Thanks for caring 🙂
