Went to a wedding yesterday - at the reception, a few people wanted to talk about the Tour (don't ask me why, when there was open bar).
They don't really understand cycling - the event that educated them the most was the TTT. They said that normally the peloton looks like a swarm of insects, but the TTT was a vivid illustration of the effects of drafting. They also said that they really liked watching it.
I was surprised - I thought that only die-hard fans would appreciate TTT.

A friend of mine who knows nothing about cycling also mentioned finding the TTT the most interesting.

My wife likes the TTT a lot too. Gets to see all those nicely colored outfits doing a nice, 9-way dance on the asphalt.
(I hope Liggett steals my words and that Bobke doesn't)
