Has anyone else had the group just disappear from their nntp? I was receiving it yesterday and today a bunch of my groups disappeared from OE and when I checked newsgroups rec.food.cooking is just gone. I've tried emailing my NNTP provider who I pay and the email just bounced.

Any suggestions? My NNTP is Teranews.com
it's not your server. it's Outlook Express. it's a known bug. to fix: delete your profile. reboot add your profile. reboot. add your newsgroups. you'll get all the messages on your server, including ones you may have already read. note: back up any saved email into a seperate folder *before* you delete your profile. lee

I removed the server from my accounts and added it back and now my groups are all there. Thanks.

oh, that's great! i'll file that bit of info 🙂 that's much easier than deleting the whole profile. you had asked in the previous post what that is. in OE, you can set up email & news for several users. each different user has a 'profile', which is thier personal email address & newsgroup preferences. of course, if you're the only one using your computer, you wouldn't really be aware there could be multiple profiles. OE sometimes (frequently <cough>😉 messes up & drops parts of a profile & the usual 'fix' is the remove, reboot method. i like the one you found much better. i'll be suggesting that first & then go to remove reboot 🙂 lee
