A Raleigh Pro Mark V showed up yesterday, to be refurbished and sent on its
way. I was disappointed that it was a Mark V and not the much prettier (and
more valuable) Mark IV, but hey, that's the market. Bought fairly, cleaned
up, and off it goes.

And a Cinelli SuperCorsa is due in soon. Older frame with newish Record 10
components. All of which will be liberated and turned into cash. This one
was cheap. I bought it for not much more than what the frame alone should
sell for. Doh.

And the Bob Jackson frame just won't leave. That was going to be my fixxie,
but then I got the great idea of a single speed 130mm hub and swapping right
side crankarm, handlebars/levers and pulling the derailleurs off my race
bike (the yet to be built Dream).

No, I'm not a dealer, nor a bike collector. I've just got a Campy habit that
won't quit and I fund it in part by doing a little bike arbitrage on the
side. 🙂

If you disagree, I'll tell you about the two *TWO* sets of Delta brakes that
I had a year ago, one set with the rare century finish, and the two or three
sets of Campy cantis. All gone now, back to that big bike swap in the sky
(ebay).

That sounds uncomfortable, and must be very hard on the clear coat
(since the bike can only remain upright for so long after it's left
you behind).

Um, no.

The Deltas were just okay. I really wanted to like them, but didn't. Also,
they looked really *big* on my 52cm frame.

The Campy cantis were similarly unimpressive. I was trying to build up an
all Campy 'cross bike and the brakes just weren't up to the rest of the
bike. I ended up with a set of Paul's cantis. Much better stopping and
easier to adjust. The Campys were a pain...and I spent a *lot* of time
playing with them...

Um, no.

The Deltas were just okay.

Deltas need proper set-up, first of all. The pads need to fairly far
off the rims.

I've had a pair of CDA Deltas since 1990. Properly set-up, and with
better pads (I use Campy HP0, cables (Dia-compe here) and levers
(Dia-compe 251), they are wonderful- the best road brakes ever, IMHO..
