Quill Stem: Min Insert line

There is only a couple of silly millimeters difference.

I think headtube is wrong as it has nothing to do with it.Insertion into steerer is what matters, and the top of the steerer is only a few mm below the top of the locknut. Think about it.

Yeah exactly. It's minimum insertion into the steerer tube or the nut that matters. Not minimum insertion into the headtube. Theoretically you could have enough spacers that the stem's quill wouldn't even reach the headtube and it would work just fine. Top of the nut and top of the steerer are pretty much one and the same.

back in the old days we was told that the expander on the stem should not be expanding against the threaded section of the steerer.

In other words, the expander should be below the threads of the seerer
