Trek 1400???

The Trek 1400 is a non-US model. If you go to the www.trekbile.com site you'll see that there are seperate sites for Trek USA and Trek Global. In the USA range there are only 1000 & 1200 models, internationally there's a 1000, 1200, 1400 and 1500. Just to add to the confusion the Intl 1200 is basically a 1000 with carbon fork and Tiagra gearing. The USA 1200 with its SL Aluminium frame is a lot more comparable to the Intl 1500.

I'm in NZ and have got a 1000. In hindsight I'd probably have gone for the 1200 for the fork, but the 1000 does me fine.

I've been looking at the Trek 1400, and you'll probably find that the 1400 has a much lighter and better finished frame than it's little brothers. Coupled with a full 105 groupset, it seems to be a very ood buy for the price. Although, it does have Tiagra brake calipers...not sure why..

Another one that has been recommended to me is a Raceline Pave. Tiagra/105 mix, good frame, excellent cranks/chainrings. Worth a look..
