I built a great sling seat using auto seat belt webbing, I got this for nothing from a car wreckers and I was able to sew it on my wife's ordinaru sewing machine.

Strong, cool and cheap sounds good to me😄

Being "economical" I was going to try some heavy knitted shade cloth. Perhaps reinforced, or shaped
with the judicious placement of some 1'' wide nylon strapping that I already have. If it fails, I've
lost nothing.

Thanks for that, rorschandt, but it looks a bit expensive, especially when postage to Australia is
included. The beauty for me of this knitted shade cloth is that I have stacks of it, and even if it
stretches, I can adjust it to my backside with judicious tightening of the bindings. I'll give it a
try, and if it is a dismal failure, I will look for something better here in Oz.

These guys (owfinc.com) are great. My wife's business buys stuff from them on a regular basis.

There is a mesh material that is used for load covers on dump trucks (among other uses, I'm sure) .
Available in colors

It is tough as can be and doesn't stretch enough to worry about. My seat is over a year old.

I got mine through an upholstry shop. I think $10 to 15 would be the cost per yard.

have any friends that sail catamarans? The material used for the trampolines is of a loose woven
nature... I found some at the end of the sailing season where they were tossing the old "tramps"
