Hello, group!
Sorry I've been away for a while; didja miss me?
In recent months much has happened to me: I moved 30 miles east to Dover,
NJ, for better transportation options and to live "closer to civilization."
Unfortunately, my new place - a studio apartment on the second floor of a
three-floor walkup - doesn't have a stove, which pretty much makes cooking
difficult, if not impossible (microwave excepted). This means I cannot bake
bread - and the bread machine stuff isn't the same. Sigh. Looks like a hot
plate is in order; I think it's preferable to an electric frying pan for its
versatility. Besides, I already have a non-stick pan, a George Foreman
grill, and various other hand-me-down pots and pans, plus a stovetop popcorn
popper. (Of course, if I only had food to cook....)
I'm also recovering from surgery to stabilize a wrist fracture I sustained
in March on my home. I've been off work and on disability since, and you
know what? Being able to bake bread would have been GREAT therapy from the
kneading, mixing, etc. Sigh.
Anyway, just wanted to say "hi" to all y'all and to tell you I'm "back in
the saddle." You're a great group of which to be a part.
