  1. I am about to start a 6 week cycle of hard cardio and calesthenics. My
major concern is not loosing the muscle mass that I have worked so hard
to gain. Any sugestions on how I can keep my m uscle through the next 6
weeks. I understand that there is going to be weight loss and that is
fine. I need to drop some fat and that is why I am doing this. That I
need to get better cardio shape. I am curently 210 and I dont realy
    want to drop bellow 290-200.

I'm assuming you meant 190-200. What is your goal, then? To lose fat means
you're going to lose weight, of course. You only want to lose 10 lbs? You
have to understand that you WILL lose muscle. It's going to happen. Doing
any exercise that helps lose weight will also burn muscle. I've had a great
deal of success with doing cardio as I build muscle. I'm not huge (185), but
I'm bigger than most and very cut. I guess that's why they go through
    stacking cycles and cutting cycles.

Sorry that I don't have any cardio routines, but I just wanted to talk about
the process overall. Good luck, man.

    1) eat adequate amounts of protein
    2) weight train.
    3) try a low carb diet rather than diet low in fat
    4) don't maintain too large of a calorie deficit while losing, it will
encourage muscle loss (ie, lose weight slowly)
    5) Do HIIT instead of normal "slow and boring" cardio some precentage of the
    time.

  4. what is

    1) eat adequate amounts of protein

1+ grams protein per lb bodyweight (note: this will drop
as you lose weight, along with your total calorie intake).

    3) try a low carb diet rather than diet low in fat

Try both and see what feels good and works best for you.

In general, you don't want your carbs going Atkins-low,
but taking them to 30-35% of total calories might help if
    you're sensitive to carbs.

    Personally, I like 40% protein, 40-45% carbs, 15-20% fat.

I started at 200 lbs and cut down to 172 at a fairly
consistent 0.9-1.0 pound per week rate. I could probably
have gone to 2 pounds per week just by shaving another 450
calories off my daily intake (5 meals of 400-500 calories
each, 3 hours apart, starting right after working out,
which I do first thing in the morning).

"Too large" means "whatever makes you lose more than 3 lbs per week."

Agree. HIIT will improve your capacity at the other
cardio, too, which will either increase your total calorie
    consumption or shorten your workout.

I second this. Tom is really the first person I have seen to really put it
    in laymans terms!

He's the first I've seen who's collected it all together
and thrown out the [censored] to come up with the stuff
    that works.
