Felt 90

The F-90 is a great bike,however if you really get into cycling you will eventaully want a lighter, faster bike.😉

I do not know if I am reading into your post, but are you saying that if I plan on upgrading later...should I start with a lighter, faster bike?

I want to spend no more than 1,100 dollars...and with the F-90 and clipless pedals and gear I will be around there.

What do all you others think about this?

If the F90 fits and you like it then go for it! It's a great starter Bike, in fact, I started on an F91, which was the earlier equivalent...

You can put some good base miles on it, save some more cash and eventually you will be a more informed Rider and get to know exactly what you want to spend a lot of money on....

If you're brand new to road biking don't fit clipless pedals immediately, take off those dangerous Toe Clips and ride around on flat pedals untill the gear changes and controls become second nature otherwise you'll Crash!

You'll need some good cycling shorts because the F90 is a pretty harsh ride...but all in all, entry level Felt Bikes are great for the price...

Felts are great bikes. I went ahead and got a F80 back in 2004. It was silver in color. I still have it and I ride it when the weather is nasty out. Since then I have bought another bike, but I can't seem to let go of the Felt! 🙂

I just picked up a 05 Felt S32. Has about 50 miles on it, so far so good.

I own the SR91 and absolutely love it. The only thing I would suggest swap out the factory tread. I only got around 1000 miles out of my first set with 3 flats in that timeframe. They roll nice, but pick up every little pebble sliver. My next bike will be a Felt as well (S22). I rode three other bikes before deciding on the Felt. The looks and ride were much better than the others. I did swap out the saddle and went with clipless pedals.

I commute on this bike as well as go on longer rides. Very comfortable and easy to ride, and didn't break the bank account.

Factory rubber is already gone. Flattened out after about 7 miles. My buddy gave me some better tires, so i'm good to go. The S22 is really nice, but out of my price range.

THe reason I said you might want a better bike LATER is because it is not smart to put $2000+ into a nice bike right away, you need to be sure that you will still want to ride after the newness of the bike wears off.

I said ...you will eventually want a lighter, faster bike... EVENTUALLY

Today after school I went to my LBS and took out a F90. I was there with a friend that was looking at the OCR3, but as soon as we looked at both, he decided to take the F90 for a ride also.

I am really looking forward to getting a bike and I am pretty pumped. I fell in love with the F90, but I do not want to be blinded.

Is the F90 as good as a bike as it felt to me?

If I do get the F90, I am pretty sure I will get a set of Clipless pedals right away.

I don't know about the F90 but i have a F35 and its an incredible machine, and if the F90's workmanship is of the same caliber of F35 you're on to a winner,as for the clipless pedals i would advise you to buy them as soon as possible they add so much to the experience of riding(just be care full they can take a bit of getting use to)

(by the way my 1st bike was a ocr2 and that was also a very good bike,no mechanical problems with it whatsoever)
