Tonight I put the old seat on Hooves 1.5. Still not as happy with the beast as I'd like, but aside from needing a little filing (The groove on the boom clamp isn't wide enough which means the boom can't be locked down securely enough!) it seems to ride OK.
Now I just need to put the basket back on! ;-)
