    You shouldn't have posted that url. I've now spent 2 afternoons looking
    unsuccessfully for a "Fundamental Bench Mark", FBM, about a mile from where
    I live. 1st. time I used the descriptions & images, and found a Rivet type
    quite quickly, but not the FBM. Today I got more serious and took my GPS -
    it led me to the Rivet, so I'm still seeking the FBM.

    At least it got me out of the car and on my bike again, so it can't be bad.

    They're not intended to be seen. I imagine you might have found a location
    mark. Can't understand what FBMs are doing on a Trig list anyway!

    This one is - according to the photo on the website, it's set in a small
    fenced compound. A "proper monument" !
