Pedometers

Know the feeling - I have one of those (Walkers) which I used on a 13 mile
walk a few weeks ago and it indicated that I had done around 10,000 steps.

Now I know that I take large steps but at over 2 yards a step I doubt it.

I've looked at those too - but as I recently got a GPS too, I am now using
that. It cost a good bit more but I know how far I have been, what my
average speed is and I can import the track into my PC with Anquet maps to
see where I went (don't always plan in advance) and see the route statistics
too.

That's all well & good but 'about town' often involves going into places
(narrow streets, supermarkets, etc.) where GPS gives up the ghost (no
signal). Pedometers have their uses .. and generally you gets what you
pays for. 8>.
