dont you people think the bullit is one ugly bike?!?!?!

    Quoted message said:

Maybe. But then if it's looks, there's nothing like the clean lines of a top spec SS. The piccy of
the one on Santa's website does it justice though I think.

    Russ 'always wanted triple clamps'

You've always had 'em now you have two on one fork. Nice Bullit BTW. Crown aka 'triple clamp'
Dual Crown aka 'double triple clamp'

Mike - sorry it's one of my pet peeves. (now git back in yer cage!!!)

What the hell are you talking about?

Dual crown forks being called 'triple clamp' forks.

So they don't clamp in three places?

Santa? Are you referring to the Chameleon? That's not a pretty bike, this is a pretty SS:

    Droooool....

Nah, was speaking generically about SS bikes. I like the clean lines and flick-ability of them, and
having a minimal kit bike is also appealing... Personally, if I was going SS, it would have to be
rigid, with mechanical disks, no bottles or bags... Just frame/forks/wheels/brakes/chipped teeth :o)

I've even got an old Canondale that's crying out to be "sorted" but the frame really is a little
small for me although the reach is fine, so not sure whether to invest in new forks & riser bar or
just sell it and use the money to get (a small part of) the bike that started this thread!

Ohhkay, to me a 'triple clamp' is only one crown on a two legged fork. 'Triple clamp' meaning one
clamp for the steerer and one for each leg. With a dual crown setup, i.e. DH forks, there are two
'triple clamps', one on top of the head tube and one below. I read it in magazines a lot where they
refer to a dual crown fork simply as a 'triple clamp' fork which, to me, is technically incorrect.
When Russ wrote that 'he always wanted a triple clamp' I (the humor was lost in transmission of msg)
corrected him by saying "he always had one" meaning his single crown fork on his old bike had a
    'triple clamp' on it.

Mike - damn, once you let one of those pet peeves out, they're a [censored] to get back in their cage!!!

Yeah I've read some of your other posts and I'd say you were a bit [censored]. Have a good time? ;^)

I think I'm going to go for something very similar, but with hydro disks.

    --

Yeah, hydro disks are better but I like the thought of being basic... I'm even tempted to go for
V-Brakes as that's even more basic, but then I prefer disks.

Well, enjoy it while you're young!

Mike - almost as old as his shoe size (EUR) . ;^)
