lettuce and a dollup of sourcream in it.(1/2 thin corn totilla shell
wasnt too carby) One teeny tiny taco!!!!! I could only eat half of it!!

  2. Laureen,

are you planning on continuing low carb or do you feel like you can
have just about anything in moderation? Just wondering.....

  3. Laureen...

I'm not trying to pour cold water on your success... but I'm wondering
if it wouldn't also be a great thing for you to explore a new
    relationship with food.

You have a golden opportunity to retrain your mind and your body.
Eating fast food tacos... while only a half... doesn't "buy" you
anything. Sure, it was only a little, but now is your time to rethink
    and retool. Use it wisely.

  4. Thanks for your kind concern. Not to worry. My mind is retrained. I
dont frequent fast food places. After 3 months of sucking things
through a straw and never knowing what full really was I wanted
something to crunch and it was a test. Cottage cheese was tested but it
disappeared instantly. I used to eat 6 of those tiny things. It made
me cry!!! I couldnt believe how small my new tummy was.

Believe me. At $14,000 in, I am not going to even screw this up. The
carb count on half a taco was incredibly low since I ate the equivalent
of 2 large tortilla chips in shell.
I'm the girl who has dieted all her life. I have LC'ed on and off for 5
years so I know how to do this. Im actually glad that this kind of WLS
requires LC, the low fat is what I am not used to. It is a bit of a
challenge as I ate butter and fatty meats. I think I will do a lot of
lean meats like chicken, white fish, tuna. Along with that comes the
dry meat though so I will have to figure out ways to make it "go down
good" I will get through this though. My hope is to be a minimum of 150
    lbs thinner by this Christmas.

  5. laureen,
did you doctor tell you what to start with when you started solids?
do you have a support group with others who have had the same surgery?

do not kid yourself about already being "retrained" or that $$$ will
keep you from going off track.
recovery from eating disorders is a life time effort ODAAT.

  6. Laureen...

The mere fact that you chose a taco the first day you could eat solids
should raise a red flag within you.

You cannot retrain yourself without real awareness. A lifetime of
dieting and food issues cannot be retrained in 3 months of an enforced
    liquid diet.

The recidivism rate of WLS is pretty high... We're all pulling for you,
but the numbers on the scale should not be your only measure of success.

You've taken drastic steps to give yourself a chance... Look far deeper
    than the scale.

    All the best,

    Jennifer

  7. What's so evil about a taco? Meat, cheese, lettuce in a little bit of corn
shell, sounds pretty healthy to me. I got some of the La Tiara LC tacos and
fix them for dinner sometimes, I put in tomato as well, salad and protein
all in one. My SO who never much liked tacos likes these.

The best way to describe it would be fermented or marinated/pickled cabbage.
It's has a strong amount of garlic, ground red pepper and salt...........

A few sites showing different ways to prepare it.

Is it the same as in Australia?
