  1. Hi everyone

I am having great difficulty working my chest. I have tried dumbel
presses on flat surfaces and an incline and even bench pressed but
nothing seems to be working. I have been doin this for about the last 6
months. So I need something new and different to target my pec any
suggestions or links that I can use to see results...

Have you been progressively increasing the weight?

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

  3. Just continue jacking off 56x a day, only use the left arm half the
time, and that imbalance will go away.

I am afraid you are going to have to be a bit more specific. What
exactly isn't working? Are you not able to progress to heavier
weights? Are your muscles not getting any bigger? Do the people at
the gym mock your form? How many sets and reps are you using? If we
had a better idea what isn't working then we could tell you what to
    try.

If dumbbell bench and incline presses and barbell bench presses aren't
building your pecs then there is either something really wrong with
your form or there is something seriously wrong with your workout.
You aren't likely to find exercises that are better for building pecs
    (well, maybe dips).

Perhaps you simply need to shake things up a bit. If you are
currently doing lots of sets with lots of reps (8-12) then perhaps you
should use heavier weights and less reps for a bit. If you are
currently doing heavy weights with very few reps (less than 8) then
perhaps you should try for more volume (either more sets or more
reps). However, without a better idea of what you are doing it's hard
    to tell what might help.

Hey Jason thanks for the suggestions but I have been changing it up
lately I usually do between 8-10 reps with everyting. My form is pretty
good since I have someone to spot me all the time and as far as weights
I dont want to compensate form for weight. As far as the eating aspect
of it; I am using Prolab Whey Protein drink mix to help build some
muscle. But even with all these things still havnt seen the results I
want. I am gonna try the dips I hear they work for some people. But
basically all i want are my pecs to be more defined and cut. Thanks in
    advance for all your help!

You still haven't given much detail for people to help. What's your
    routine?

You're going to need a lot more than just protein shakes. It could be
    you're not eating enough.

If you're goal is more definition, you'll need to reduce bodyfat.

  6. IMO you should concentrate on flys, pulley flys, cable crossovers and
pec deck. For many, presses don't do that much, and can cause injury,
especially barbell presses. For those of us in this category, the more
isolated effects of fly motions will maximize whatever potential's
    there to be tapped.

I think your sets and reps are good, keep in the moderate range, then
on the last 1-2 sets of each exercise add some rest-pause, cheat or
negative reps to push the envelope.

  7. That's BS. I'm one that had numerous shoulder problems from presses.
Problem was solved with thorogh warmups combined with fly movements, so
    i'm speaking from experience.

The problem with some pec decks is the design; most of them i'd never
bother with, including the Nautilus pec deck. Now, if you use a
well-designed one there is no problem and you're getting a superior
    chest workout.

  8. Intresting logic. No, the point is to remove all possible contributors
to shoulder stress while finding the most optimal exercises. There are
many, not a few, who will never get far doing flat or incline presses,
just doesn't work for them. Those people have to try more than what the
book (and guys on this forum who don't know better) and find out for
    themselves.

  9. Thanks Dad. I've made some informed comments borne of experience. Try
    it. Ta ta.
