  1. Well, I intend to do a lot of cycling this weekend. Got weighed a little
earlier, I've now lost 61lbs since middle of December and I intend to put
this to good use at the weekend by being on my bike a *lot*

    Cheers, helen s

This weekend I shall be wearing mostly two wheels. It's Luigi's turn out of
the garage this weekend. Nathan's a happy bunny - Vernon has built "himself"
a lovely bike up - Look carbon frame. Nathan is being allowed to ride it
this weekend as Vernon has a bad back. Nathan tried the new bike out
yesterday and when he got back home I asked him how it was. His eyes sort of
glazed over as he said, "Oh lovely, very responsive." Hmmmm....

    Cheers, helen s

Its not the done thing to ask a lady how many tyres she has ;-)

hurrah! 61 lb, that's completely fantastic and inspirational.

This weekend I shall not be being on my bike much :-(
Saturday is taken up with mandatory birthday visit to my mother [1]
and Sunday with a belly dance workshop. And the following weekend
Steph is busy, so I'll have to make my own bike-related fun.

[1] actually I did orignally plan to do this by taking self,
sonandheir, bike and trailerbike on the train and cycling the 10 miles
from station on country lanes to parental home. It should have been a
direct train but sadly Mr Branson is tinkering with his train set
every weekend between now and no-one-at-virgin-knows-when, which would
mean getting us off train and on a bus and it taking longer and it all
seeming far too much hassle for a day trip, in the end. So we're
going in the car instead. My bad.

Earlier this year we had cycled to Arbroath to have dinner with some
friends, and several bottles of wine later rode to the station to find it
closed and the trains replaced by busses. The bus driver didn't have any
problem finding space for two 'bents in one of the underbus compartments.
So it can work but I wouldn't count on it!

Well, we must have left Greg's and we certainly arrived at the station,
    so I /assume/ that's how we got there... ;-)

And since we were only going one way we didn't have a ticket at that
point. Nobody at Arbroath would sell us one, so we gamely hung about in
a "We'll buy a ticket if you want us to!" manner for a while after we'd
unloaded the bikes at Dundee, but nobody seemed at all interested, so we
got the trip as a freebie.

The bus driver approached loading the bikes on very much a "Can Do!"
basis, which isn't always the sort of response one expects from the
    actual train operation...

    61lbs - that's a small person!
    Congratulations.

Note to self - must emulate Helen and get some weight off.

You will be amazed how much quicker you can get up hills. Should you
ever decide to cycle anywhere hilly(!).

Keep up the good work - I've lost 112 lbs since the autumn. Did a 45
mile ride today, a year ago I would have struggled with 10.
