What does everyone else keep on hand all of the time? I watch the
sales and if one of my 'regular' items is on sale at a good price,
I'll buy it. I watch the dates on the items such as mayo and salad
    dressings.

What is "Manwich"? I keep many of the same staples, and also a set of
Asian food staples. I tend to stock up on the harder to find stuff
more than the sale stuff. I ignore the dates on items that don't need
    refrigeration until being opened. -aem

Manwich is a sloppy joe type of sauce you add browned ground beef to and
    slap it on a bun.

That stuff came out so long ago, I've forgotten how to make homemade sloppy
joes. Someone (Barb, I think) posted a from-scratch recipe fairly
recently. I want to give that a shot. I miss the *real* sloppy joes, even
though I like Manwich. Does anyone else think that there is cinnamon in
    Manwich sauce?

    Carol

i put cinnamon in ine. but i dont use a recipe.

I think Barb's recipe is for maid rites. I have it on Master Cook but I'm
too lazy to look it up. Barb's recipe is good too. No, I don't think there
is cinnamon in it but there is *something* in it I can't define.

    Michael

    Michael,

When you aren't feeling lazy, could you post the recipe please? I'd love to
have a homemade version for sloppy joes.

    Thanks,
    Bret

(laugh!) It was the first thing I thought of when I read the
    subject line.

It did remind me of this guy I used to work with. He was
from Maylasia so he had an accent. He asked if we had
staples. Now, I had never heard of the store, that was a
long time ago. I said, no, I don't, but go check the supply
cabinet. That was good for a laugh.

No! That was it, it's a store where you get paper and folders and
who knows what else. Even staples, I'm sure. It's just that I had
never heard of the store, so when he asked, You have staples, I
thought he meant ... staples to put paper together.

We have Staples in Canada too. It used to be office depot but changed to
    Staples a few years ago.
