I may be wrong here but are tights not a hot dog? I've heard the name
before in regards to hot dogs but I'm not positive.

I scanned fifty pages of Googled [tights 'hot dog'], and only found the SFA
referrence cited by Bubba. That's 500 sites . . . there are 199,000 to go if
anyone has the patience to go deeper.

That's why I did not try Google because I knew you would get thousands of
hits because of the wording. You'll also get a lot of panty hose links. I
must say that my curiosity is now piqued.

Tights were hot dogs in the wilds of New Jersey in the 40's.

And the German name for Vienna is Wien. From which comes Wieners.
