Just pulled mine off the Scott Black Magics on my ride. No deformations.
Could be the aluminum inner sleeve protecting them.

The sleeve is there for barends. Whether or not they extend to where the
inner lock would be is another question.

i'm still scared of my carbon bars.

I'm still scared of carbon cranks after I snapped TWO - that was a
funny event. Got two spare left cranks in carbon now lol. I'd trust a
carbon bar though, totally different kettle of fish loading-wise.

The sleeve extends the whole length of the bar. It's a heavy duty version
of the carbon series they were selling several years ago. It weighs about
140 grams while the full carbon one was under 100. The bar-end area is all
aluminum with reinforcements and I use aluminum expanding plugs for good
measure.

Does that mean I should be even more scared of RF TLP cranks after
