  1. What are some of your favorite "quotes" about bicycling?

Entries can be in any category. For example, there are real
quotes with unintended bicycle meanings, such as:

"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is
no path and leave a trail."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson, writing before the mountain bike was
    invented.

There are fake quotes with bicycle substitutions ("Give me
Campagnolo or give me death."😉, quotes with double meanings
(US writing about "bonking" read in England comes to mind
here) and other pithy statements that might cause a little bit
of amusement on a rainy day.

Here, just read the whole thing:

"And now you come to the voluntary dismount; you learned the other kind first of
    all."

Actually the whole site is worthy.

Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep

You folks realize there's an entire book of this stuff available?

    From this very newsgroup:

By the way, if you're contemplating bike commuting, do it! It's cheap, it's
clean, it will keep you healthy, it's fun, it's fast, and people will think
you're nuts. What's not to like?

  20. Others may have seen this, written by hand below a "no cycling" sign-
    NO LIFE

"I can handle bars and cycle paths but I can't handle cars and
    psychopaths"
    also has truth in it.
