I had previously suffered from knee problems when using SPDs and I could never find a position that would alleviate this. After reluctantly returning to toeclips, I kept an eye on all posts for this subject and I finally took the plunge and bought some Time ATAC pedals after reading various posts stating how much more float they had. I would like just like to say that so far I have done 50+ pain free miles and my toeclips are now in my spare bits bin.

Great stuff!
Yup, good bits of kit, ATACs. Cost a bit more than yer ackshewal SPuDs, but if you've got the extra capital and aren't after the platfotm/one sided flavour I can't really see many good reasons not to look very hard at ATACs instead. Less fussy, more positive engagement, less prone (AFAICT) to cleat wear, no pratting about with tension adjustments, better float characteristics.

Of course you can get Time cyclos - single sided; bigger platform but Atacc cleats, float and walkability.
