  1. Started the walk at TQ 40028 54111 just north of the M25 on the road to
Titsey. After walking about 0.5km realised I could have parked at
Titsey lower car park [not marked on any map I've seen]! The ascent of
Botley Hill is on a chalk track (Pitchfont Lane) which has been covered
in 20mm gravel/shingle (makes a satisfying crunch underfoot). Views
virtually non-existant due to the track being within woods as soon as
you start to ascend. At the top of the track had to dodge the traffic
on Woldingham Road to visit the trig point at TQ 39606 55351 which was
about 2m inside a field (populated by sheep!).

Instead of going straight back down retracing my path, I decided to
contour south-west @ 220m for about 1km and then joined the North Downs
Path back to Pitchfont Lane @ 165m contour.

The noise of the M25 was very intrusive and to be honest unlike
virtually every other walk I've done, this one, I can't recommend.
Although on a balmy summers day the tree cover may be refreshing or on
a snowy winters day it may be more enjoyable!

    Statistics: ~5.6km walked, ascent 200m

    Weather: Mild ~10C light drizzle

    ....27 summits this year
    26 (18 Marilyns, 6 Sweats, 8 Wainwrights, 1 Outlier)
    1 repeat (1 Marilyn)

I agree. This is one of the more dire marilyns and is also a dire
county top (former highest point of Greater London, prior to a
    boundary change).

On the plus side, it must be one of the few marilyns with a zoo
("Beaver Water World"😉 near the top - see here for piccies:
